Thousands of global leaders and advocates convene on the 16th of October to mark World Food Day with the theme "Social Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the Cycle of Rural Poverty". This day provides an excellent opportunity to educate the public on its importance in reducing rural poverty and granting access to food. With this, People Environment and Sustainability Foundation (PEAS) in Collaboration with Semek Gallus Farms celebrated the World Food Day at Adiaha Obong Secondary Commercial School, Eniong, Uyo - AKS.
As a way to alleviate hunger and promote food security, PEAS Foundation hosted first ever Miss Teen Agriculture in Nigeria. Our fresh, innovative and fashionable approach to pageantry is a way of encouraging girls to have a career in agriculture. This impactful event and its programs are unique because not only does it give girls (ages 9-18) a platform to shine, but it also instills positive values that will assist them throughout their journey in life. The way out of hunger and poverty is hand-in-hand with farmers. Stay Alive, DO AGRIC.
